Digital is doing some things better
Digital is not better for all things
Digital Photography is doing some things better, but not all of them
Computers – That’s where digital photography really shines
Yes, computer makes it work !
It’s the “darkroom” where all the digital photography comes to live and the fun begins!
Take your image and make it better
Crop it to your liking !
Change the background !
Add some more birds….
..or put some spot light to it !
…or
The computer makes it shine !
Like we said, it’s the “darkroom” that makes it all worthwhile to enter the age of digital photography !
It’s all about images, right ?
Digital or Film image ?
What does it cost ?
What do we do with the image ?
How do we improve the image ?
Where does the image eventually end up ?
Where does the image come from ?
What does it all cost ?
What do we do with the image ?
How do we manipulate the image ?
Where does the image eventually end up ?
Where do we all fit in ?
The General Consumer or Recreational Photographer likes to “Point and Shoot”
The Prosumer or Hobby Photographer likes to “Point and Think”
The Professional Photographer likes to “Point and Pause”
Let’s look at these three groups :
Most Important Features:
Primary:
Resolution
Sensor Technology
Recycle Time
Lens / Zoom
View Finder
Macro Capabilities
Exposure Control
Battery Power
Secondary:
Storage
PC Interface
Focus
Compression Formats
LCD Design
Flash
Image Stabilization
Software
What to look for:
Make certain the camera has the right resolution for your needs
Make certain the camera has enough memory
Make certain the lens will handle the picture you plan to take
Do not confuse digital zoom with optical zoom
Check how long the battery will last
